Oral herpes is caused by a virus called HSV or herpes simplex virus. Its causes sores on the inside of the mouth that look like cold or canker sores. There is a difference between oral herpes, which is caused by HSV2 & and cold sores which is caused by HSV1, although, they do look like each other. However, herpes are not cold or canker sores.

You can rinse off the blisters with baking soda and salt. The salt will sting a little, but it helps dry them up faster. Remember, when you have blisters, you’re contagious. Be sure to use your own of specific items to prepare any herpes treatments.


You can use cornstarch or Epsom salt, as well. If you have blisters all over your body, then you can take a bath with Epsom salt. Use warm water and about a fourth to a half a cup of Epsom salt. Soak for about 20 minutes. If you don’t have either, you can use table salt.


Eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, stay away from fatty, greasy foods. Not that they will start an outbreak, but they are not good for your immune system. Eat fish for the omega fatty acids or be sure to add whey to your diet. It contains all the amino acids your body needs to fight off many viruses, including herpes. Staying healthy with a strong immune system will keep the outbreaks of herpes down and improve the quality of your life.


Staying healthy and keeping your immune system in great shape will often stop outbreaks. It's also a good idea to keep your spirits up which I know is hard to do sometimes, however it's a recorded fact that depression, anxiety and just being down can bring on a herpes outbreak.
